FAQs

E

Do you buy clothes to sell?

No, I don’t buy items from you.  I operate like a dress agency by taking and selling your clothes in return for a commission when items are sold.

E

What can I sell in your preloved boutique?

I accept women’s second-hand clothes and accessories that are unworn or very gently worn from high end high-street retailers to boutique brands and designer labels.  All items must be in excellent condition, no more than 3 years old (except handbags), relevant to the current season, and recently laundered.  If in doubt, please ask.

E

What items do you accept?

I sell women’s clothes and accessories including daywear, seasonal occasion dresses & party wear, preloved handbags & shoes.  Most items are considered as long as they are in excellent condition, current (no more than 3 years old),  from quality brands/boutiques, in sizes 8-18.  If in doubt, please ask.

E

Is there anything you don’t accept?

Swimwear, nightwear, underwear, jewellery & counterfeit items.

E

How much will I receive when you sell my items?

You will receive 50% of the sale price.  As a guide, items are priced between 30-50% of their original retail price (or equivalent).

E

How long do you keep the clothes?

Items will be held for sale in my dress agency for an 8-week selling period.  You will receive payment for items sold at the end of your selling period.

E

What happens if my clothes don’t sell?

You can collect them or I can donate them to charity on your behalf.  I work with a local refugee/women’s hospice in St Albans and Keech Hospice charity shop.

E

Anything else I need to know?

Please ensure that all items you wish to sell are in excellent condition, recently dry-cleaned or laundered, pressed and ready-to-wear.  We will provide hangers.
